Historic Horticultural Photos from the Gulf Coast of the United States and the IPBC

Buddy Lee, the developer of the Encore(R) Azalea Series (pictured in the middle above), lead us on a humorous and insightful romp through the horticultural history of the Gulf Coast Region and the Independent Plant Breeders Conference. His slideshow presentation was a sea of faces of the "who's who" of horticulturists through the years. He gave his talk at Bellingrath Gardens at the end of the first day of the Independent Plant Breeders Conference on Friday, November 9, 2018 (blog entry here).

PHOTOS ARE NOT MINE, but were generously shared by Buddy!

Early days at Flowerwood Nursery

A load of cans destined to hold nursery plants one day!

Do we have to, dad?
